At Stone Bank, we’re here to help you stay informed and secure. In honor of Identity Theft Awareness Week, here are 3 simple actions you can take today to safeguard your personal information:
1. Monitor Your Accounts Regularly
Stay one step ahead of fraud by reviewing your bank statements and account activity often through Stone Bank’s online banking. Sign up for account alerts to receive notifications of unusual transactions. If you spot something suspicious, report it immediately.
2. Shred Sensitive Documents
Don’t let your personal information fall into the wrong hands. Shred old bank statements, bills, and other documents containing account details or Social Security numbers before disposing of them.
3. Use Strong Passwords and Two-Factor Authentication
Create unique, complex passwords for all your accounts, and change them regularly. Do not reuse passwords from other accounts or previous passwords. Whenever possible, enable two-factor authentication (2FA) for an added layer of protection.
Visit us or contact one of our Boulder Bankers if you have questions about protecting your identity. Let’s work together to keep your information safe!
